National Youth Science Camp
The National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp) is an honors program for two high-achieving high school graduates from each state in the United States and others from around the world. This unique residential experience has been held in a rustic setting in West Virginia’s eastern mountains since 1963.
The NYSCamp is a broad science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) experience that incorporates both creative and performing arts as well as an outdoor adventure series including opportunities for rock climbing, mountain biking, spelunking, whitewater kayaking, and overnight backpacking. The delegation also travels to Washington, D.C. are able to tour museums on the National Mall, attend a Science Policy panel discussion at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and are hosted at a luncheon in their honor with members of the United States Senate. Application Requirements: • Graduate from high school between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018 • Documented superior academic proficiency • Recognition for notable achievement in mathematics and/or science • Skills and achievements outside of STEM and outside academics • Intent to pursue higher education and a career in STEM • Available to participate in the entire NYSCamp (June 27 – July 21, 2018) • See http://apply.nysc.org for complete application information.

UAMS Summer Pharmacy Camp
The UAMS College of Pharmacy Summer Camp Program is designed for students interested in learning more about the challenging career pathway opportunities in the profession of pharmacy. This unique camp incorporates active participation in a broad scope of learning experiences including “hands-on” training in pharmacy practice skills, lectures by College of Pharmacy faculty and local Arkansas pharmacist practitioners, and field trips to actual pharmacy practice locations. The camp program reviews pharmacy education opportunities and the pharmacy curriculum at UAMS as well as recommended high school preparatory and collegiate pre-pharmacy course work.
Camp tuition is $400.00 and includes housing, all meals, camp instruction materials, laboratory exercise supplies, and field trip transportation and expenses.
Students currently in their junior and senior year of high school are eligible to apply.

The UALR Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology offers several options for students interested in STEM-focused summer camps. All of the programs are free of charge to the students chosen to attend.

Sports Medicine Workshop
The workshop will introduce students to a variety of sports medicine fields, concepts and sports first aid. Students attending will hear from allied health and sports medicine speakers. There will be demonstrations and small hands-on projects for response techniques and intervention. A free t-shirt and lunch will be provided for registrants.

United States Senate Youth Program
The 59th annual United States Senate Youth Program will be held March 14-18, 2021. This is for students that are interested in government, political science, and public service and must currently hold an elective office in a student government, civic, or educational organization officially sponsored by the student's school.
